This guide will help you through the process of creating a new post and provide some best practices along the way. Let's get started!

Before initiating a new post, try the search bar on the community homepage to check if the content you seek already exists. The search results will retrieve relevant content from the Community. If your search yields no results, follow the steps below to create your post.

  1. Click on + New Post in the top right corner to initiate a new post.

  2. Choose the type of post you want to create You'll be presented with two options: Question and Conversation. Note that the default selection for a new post is Question, so be sure to adjust this if you're posting a Conversation. If you're in a specific discussion category and click on New Post, the Category field will automatically populate with that Discussion Category, so remember to modify it if necessary. Y0u also will get an option to create a poll under both - question and conversation type post. Consider the following when selecting your post type:

  • Question:

    • Indicates to the community that you're seeking a solution to a specific question or problem.
    • Alerts moderators to assist in finding an answer.
    • Appears in the Unanswered Questions section on the homepage.
    • Once a solution is found, it's the author's responsibility to select it as the Best Answer.
  • Conversation:

    • Indicates that you want to share something and initiate a conversation.
    • May involve posing questions without seeking a specific answer.
    • Examples include seeking recommendations, sharing experiences, or asking for input
  • Poll:

Click on the three dots under
DESCRIPTION section to start a Poll
    • Indicates to the community that you're seeking their opinion to help you select the best option or the most popular one
    • Alerts moderators to assist in finding an answer.
    • Appears in the Unanswered Questions section on the homepage.
  1. Provide a title for your post: Ensure your title is clear and succinctly summarizes your objective.

  2. Explore Related Posts: Once you've added a title, a list of potential related posts will be displayed based on keywords. Review these related posts to avoid duplicating existing content.

  3. Include your description: Provide a thorough description to facilitate community assistance.

  4. Choose your category: Select either a Discussion Category or a group you've joined. Sharing questions in Discussion Categories is recommended for prompt answers.

  5. Add tags (optional): Tags aid in organizing content for future community members. Moderators can assist in adding tags after your post, so don't let this hinder you from asking your question.

  6. Click on Create
