Question

Interactivity player loads a cookie consent banner and we want to turn it off

Forum|alt.badge.img

We have a first use of the off-screen chapter experience, and the Hapyak iframe in the player loads a cookie consent banner. How can this be disabled?

Hi Alan,

Our team is currently testing a solution to remove the banner from experiences on a per-request basis. I believe that you’ve been in touch with our support team about the issue. If it’s alright with you, I can advise them when the solution is released to help you apply it.

Hi Alan,

Thank you for your patience and sharing your questions!

To hide the cookies banner is now possible. We implemented a query parameter to share this option with the player. If you want to hide this message, you need to add this query parameter to the URL of the experience:

cookie_compliance_banner=false

For example:

https://player.interactivity.brightcove.com/latest/experience/1b355529095347e6a29181ee38849de7?cookie_compliance_banner=false

Have an excellent day,

Hi, Perla

It’s within an embedded player. From your suggestion, I’m using

<div style="position: relative; display: block; max-width: 100%;"> <div id="interactivity_embedded_experience_663921c7e8680fc2cf12e187" style="padding-top: 56.255%;"> <iframe src="https://player.interactivity.brightcove.com/latest/experience/dbf134e986bd49afbd6b199e85772cc5?embed_experience=true&cookie_compliance_banner=false" frameborder="0" allowfullscreen webkitallowfullscreen mozallowfullscreen style="position: relative; top: 0; right: 0; bottom: 0; left: 0; width: 100%; height: 100%;"></iframe> </div></div><script type="application/javascript" src="https://player.interactivity.brightcove.com/latest/embedded_experience.js"></script>

I’m still getting the banner. Initial page load, no banner, which is as it was before. Then navigate to a different page and click back button to return to the page with the player, and there’s the banner.

Hi @Alan Kimrey ,

Good day!

Thank you for your patience.

The Interactivity team have confirmed that they are still working on the fix for the cookie banner. Unfortunately, they are currently unable to provide an estimated date for the next update or additional details about the fix.

Rest assured that as soon as we have updates we will share them with you. Please do not hesitate to let me know if you have any questions.

Hi @Nathan Veer,

Our Interactivity team confirmed that the fix is already in production; you should now be able to see the expected result in the interactivity player; also, in the support ticket @Alan Kimrey  confirmed that he was able to see the changes.

Let me know if you have any additional questions.

Happy to help!
