Download HLS and DASH from Brightcove

We have used Brightcove to transcode many of our videos into the HLS and DASH formats.  We’d like to leverage our transcoding and copy these HLS and DASH formats for use somewhere else.  Is there a way to download the raw HLS and DASH video formats?

Good morning all.  It is my understanding the brightcove host videos for NETACAD, a cisco training site. There are videos that are embedded on the netacad site, that our web filter is blocking. We have the Linewize web filter. I am looking for a URL to unblock in order for these videos to be watchable within our domain. Does anyone know a specific URL for videos hosted by brightcove that I can use to unblock in our filter? I have already added brightcove.com but that did not do the trick.

Transitioning Video to tall/story for Instagram post

I am new to this program and it’s REALLY not user friendly!  Our real estate brand is offering this as a perk.  I’ve completed the video but it will NOT let me post to social media or transition this video from a horizontal video to a tall story/reel (have of video is cut off).  Where do I begin? HELP.PS….our marketing director is on vacation until the 25th

Character limit on YouTube description

When I post to YouTube, the description always gets cut off.  The full description never pulls completely. I am not out of (or anywhere near) the character limit. Any suggestions?

Mobile responsive one column versus two

I wonder if anyone can offer advice.  Our home gallery https://dbdt.gallery.video/ renders in two columns on my phone.  We’re in a Catalogue Portal template set up by our vendor. I’m starting to look more at how to take more control of how our gallery looks to our patrons.  I’d love it if I could just tweak a setting for the gallery to render in one column on desktops and single column on mobile. This has been pretty easy to control with our regular Wordpress website, so if I could manage it for our video gallery, too, that would be nice.  Two columns is OK, but the short descriptions are so truncated in mobile view, and more and more of our patrons visit on mobile devices. Thanks for any suggestions! John

When will the Brightcove native sdk support gradle 8

Hello, When I upgrade the Brightcove native SDK to version to 9.0/9.2 with Android 14 configuration and Gradle 8.7 we an error. Looking at the native sdk docs it looks like Gradle 8 is not supported yet.I was wondering when this will be supported?From the docs linked above...Notes: Brightcove recommends always using the latest version with a specific version string. For example, review the build.gradle and gradle.properties files in the android-player-samples project. The ExoPlayer dependency includes the Native SDK for Android, so you do not have to include the SDK separately. Google's ExoPlayer is an open source, application-level media player for Android. Notice that we are using the ExoPlayer 2 framework. For details, see the Migrating to ExoPlayer 2 Framework document. Android Studio uses Gradle version 8+ and the SDK does not support it yet. Downgrade Gradle to v7.1.3 by changing in the build.gradle(PlayVideos) file In the Gradle Scripts.

Reports on video updates

This choice in the reports section “video.updated_at” says it is the date/time when the video was last modified.But does that mean the actual video file was updated, or could that really mean anything was updated, such as the name, a tag, the role, etc?  I need a report on a group of videos to know the last time each one was updated with a new video file. Thanks

Is it possible to edit the display name of a Brightcove link in a hyperlink? When clicking on “edit hyperlink”, the display name section is greyed out and cannot be edited.

Is it possible to use the JS Statement in the Display Rule of a Chapters Menu annotation to get the completionStatus from the LMS SCORM API?  f the status is “completed,” I want to display the Chapters Menu at the beginning of the video.Will I need to add code to the scorm_api_wrapper.js to make this work?

We just upgraded to AEM 6.5.21.0 and we're using brightcove_connector.ui.apps-6.0.6. The 'CSP: style-src unsafe-inline' vulnerability indicates that application's Content Security Policy allows the use of inline styles, which can be exploited by attackers. Is there a way to avoid  'CSP: style-src unsafe-inline' with brightcove player?

Has anyone created a useful SCORM file from an Interactivity Experience?

I need a 100% viewing for a passing grade. Brightcove Support says that It is “not possible to eliminate the giant Header and submit button,” when displayed in the LMS. That header creates a situation where the viewer may not even see the top of the video, where a continue button is displayed to release a gated annotation.  Any advice would be helpful as Support has ignored my requests for further disccusion.

Does Brightcove have plans to establish an ingest point for live streaming in Central or South America? I’ve had to use SRT instead of RTMP in these regions to increase stream performance and reliability.

SRT stream failover

In a recent event we noticed that SRT streams do not support seamless failover to backup like RTMP streams. Are there plans to allow similar seamless failover for SRT streams? The user experience was not ideal in that a browser refesh was required to connect to the backup stream.

Cue Points not displaying

I’m adding cue points to a video, but the cue point icon is not displaying on the timeline, and after adding a cue point it doesn’t actually appear in the cue point list. So, I have no way of deleting or adding them.What are some possible causes of this that I should be considering? I’m using Firefox browser version 115.9.1esr (64-bit) for Mac EDIT: confirming that this appears to be an issue with Firefox, or at least the ESR version I;m using. The cue points are displayed properly in Chrome 103.0.5060.134 (Official Build) (x86_64) for Mac.
