Hi! Does anyone know if there is a way to download brightcove videos to be able to watch them offline? For example, we show videos at tradeshows but the wifi is spotty. Is there a way to still show them with no internet?

Hi @Giovanna Scarabaggio,

Thank you for sharing your questions on Bright Spot!

In order to download your videos from VideoCloud or from the player, please consult the following public documentation: https://beacon-help.support.brightcove.com/media/manage/downloading-videos-video-cloud.html

As a recap to the documentation, the videos that want to be downloaded needs to have at least one mp4 rendition. The mp4 renditions are also called progressive as you can see in the documentation. This can be done at the upload moment or doing a re-transcode to the video using a new Ingest Profile with the progressive renditions in it.

An Ingest Profile with progressive renditions should look like this:

If a video is uploaded or re-transcoded with the above Ingest Profile the video should look like this:

Video demonstrate:

https://players.brightcove.net/6200041321001/default_default/index.html?videoId=6349415011112

You could click the blue rendition and download the video or you can add to your player the download button: https://player.support.brightcove.com/plugins/download-button-plugin.html

Kindly let me know if you have further questions. I’m happy to help!

Best!
