When you “Move to” a folder, what are the effects of that?  It’s still in the All Videos list, right?  I know I can present a playlist at a URL; can I do the same with a folder?

When you utilize the "Move to" function to organize your videos into specific folders, you're essentially categorizing them for easier management and access. This action does not remove the videos from the "All Videos" list; rather, it helps in structuring your content in a way that aligns with your organizational or editorial needs. The "All Videos" list will still contain a comprehensive list of all your videos, serving as a master repository.

Moving videos into folders does not affect their presence in the "All Videos" list. This list will continue to display all your video assets, regardless of the folders into which they've been organized. This ensures that you always have a bird's-eye view of your entire video library.

Presenting a folder's content similarly to how you would present a playlist is an interesting concept. While folders are primarily used for organizational purposes within the Media Module and don't directly function like playlists, you can achieve a similar outcome by creating a playlist of the videos within a specific folder.

  • Step 1: Navigate to the folder of interest and select the videos you wish to present.
  • Step 2: Create a new playlist and add the selected videos from the folder to this playlist.
  • Step 3: Utilize the playlist's URL to share or embed the playlist on your desired platform or site, just as you would with any regular playlist.

This method allows you to curate content located within a specific folder and present it externally in a structured and engaging format, similar to a playlist.

Thanks! Looks like folders will be very useful for organizing our videos.  (We’re already using tags and playlists.)

Is it possible to get a link to this video to share with individuals in my company who use Brightcove but aren’t signed up in the community? Or do I just need to get them signed up?

Hi @Jared Collett, having the team signed up to the Bright Spot community will give them access to other useful resources as well, so we highly recommend that. You can share this link for the team to register - https://community.brightcove.com/member/register

Also, we do have a dedicated webpage for all the past recordings 👇🏽 that you can share with your team - https://www.brightcove.com/en/resources/resource-center/videos/brightcove-customer-series-videos/#episode-1

Hope this was helpful. Let me know if you have any followup questions.
