Hello,

I have some scheduled analytics reports and was looking for a way for the report date to be included in the name automatically. Is there a way to specify that?

For example, rather than having “ScheduledReport” sent to me every month, I’d like it if it was “ date]_ScheduledReport” like “January2025_ScheduledReport.”

Thank you for your time,

Aly

Hi @Aly Gillen Yes, you can do that.  You can find the public documentation on managing scheduled reports here. Follow these steps to customize the report name with a date:

  1. Navigate to the Reporting module and select the report frequency (daily, weekly, or monthly).
  2. In the "Configure and Deliver Report" section, modify the report name manually to include the desired date format.
  3. Click "Request Report" to schedule it.
  4. You can review the report status in the "Scheduled Reports" module.

Currently, there is no automated way to append the date to the report name, so it must be manually adjusted before scheduling. Hope this was helpful! Feel free to post follow up here itself.

Thanks for the response, Varsha.

I was looking for a way for the report name to be automatically updated using a dynamic value in the title to avoid having to go in and change it every time the report is run. I suppose I’ll look for some sort of automation for the file after I’ve saved it.

Thank you for your time.

You got it @Aly Gillen. Hopefully your dev team can help. It can be implemented using this Analytics API https://apis.support.brightcove.com/analytics/references/reference.html#tag/Analytics-Report
