I’ve reviewed the video accessibility video but haven’t found an answer to this issue yet and I’m not sure where I’ve gone wrong.  We have a video with caption tracks for English, Chinese (Simplified), and Chinese (Traditional).  English and Chinese (Simplified) both work as expected but captioning for Chinese (Traditional) is not working as expected and no captioning appears when that language is selected. Any ideas on how to resolve this are most welcome.

Hi @Daniel Murray how’s it going? I am sorry about that, it’s definitely frustrating not having the answers you need right away. I wanted to share a quick update with you that my colleague @Perla Olivas  is already working on troubleshooting the issue and should have an update for you soon. In the meantime, I’ve also shared this with other Brightcove users in case anyone has insights or solutions to share.

Dear @Daniel Murray

Thank you for sharing your question on Bright Spot!

Thank you for your patience and dedication in searching our public documentation for a possible solution.

There are some reasons and limitations why your file may be failing video. Specifically, and from what you describe in your message, I think the following may be the reason:

  • If you ingest an invalid WebVTT file in Studio, the file will "process", but will not be added to the video. Workaround: you can validate your WebVTT files using this online validator.

Also, take in mind that currently, ingesting text tracks from Google Drive links is not possible. This may not be your case but I wanted to mention it in case it is necessary.

Please validate your file with the Online Validator and confirm that it is correct. If after confirming the file you still have problems please let me know.

Glad to help you!
