Hi, I’m wondering if people can share any benchmarks they use to assess engagement scores for videos. I understand the score and how it’s calculated and can find it in analytics, so really look to see how our scores compare across industries.. any generic categories would be helpful.

Thanks,

Hi @Education Team,

Since you already understand the Engagement Score (ES) and how it’s calculated, it’s important to recognize that ES is more than just a number. There are numerous use cases where it can provide valuable insights beyond simply aiming for a higher score.

For example, we use ES to monitor overall performance trends daily, weekly, and monthly, ensuring it stays above a certain threshold (X). It also helps us compare accounts—such as identifying why Account A consistently outperforms Account B. If there’s a sudden drop in ES, it signals the need for further investigation.

Additionally, ES can be integrated into other processes, such as factoring it into a video recommendation algorithm or leveraging it for early alerts to identify potential "popular" videos before they go viral.

In other words, the ES serves as both a positive and negative signal that can be tailored to meet your company’s specific goals and strategies.
