Using the new NextGen Live streaming module with redundancy, I’ve encountered a workflow issue that I’d like some input on.With the Live 1.0 module and redundancy you got the following:A top level video ID you published to the audience, automatically handling switching between streams. A Master video ID A Backup video IDAll three of these video ID’s could have a short link URL published (i.e. https://bcove.video/12aBCd3 etc), which could then be shared with the producer or others on site for external monitoring. They would then be able to see how the Master and Backup video stream performed for the audience directly.Using the NextGen Live streaming module, this three way separation is gone. Let’s talk EVP. For decades, researchers and enthusiasts alike have claimed to capture unexplained voices on audio recordings—voices that weren’t heard at the time of the recording. These are known as Electronic Voice Phenomena, or EVP. But here’s the big question: Are we actually hearing spirit voices? Or are we simply experiencing pareidolia—the brain’s tendency to find meaningful patterns in random noise? Some EVPs are whispery and vague, needing subtitles to guide interpretation. Others are startlingly clear. Skeptics argue it’s all suggestion and misinterpretation, while believers insist the voices are direct communication from the other side. We want to hear your take:  Have you ever captured an EVP? Do you think they represent real evidence of spirit communication? Or do you think our minds are just making sense of static?  

Today I noticed the “Standby” tab under the Live module was missing on Brightcove 1.0, so I no longer have access to my SEPs to activate them. I’ve yet to transition to 2.0 because all of my SEPs changed RTMPs/Stream Keys in Brightcove 2.0 and I have an abundance of different encoders across multiple locations across the country, so the transition will take some time and coordination with folks at those locations.Is this a bug? Or is 2.0 no longer optional? If anyone has any advice, it’d be much appreciated.

We have been happily rolling along on live streaming events with one access point, but a new stream team suggests that is like driving around without a seatbelt.  Is it possible to switch access points mid-live-stream on the same video ID, or would we need to have twinned video ids running on one access point each?  Not sure we could gracefully flip one to the other considering the complexity of our access control, though we do flip access from a live video to an on-demand clip after each performance (to which patrons who had access to livestream have seamless access). 

Does Brightcove have plans to establish an ingest point for live streaming in Central or South America? I’ve had to use SRT instead of RTMP in these regions to increase stream performance and reliability. 

In a recent event we noticed that SRT streams do not support seamless failover to backup like RTMP streams. Are there plans to allow similar seamless failover for SRT streams? The user experience was not ideal in that a browser refesh was required to connect to the backup stream.
