I’ve reviewed the video accessibility video but haven’t found an answer to this issue yet and I’m not sure where I’ve gone wrong.  We have a video with caption tracks for English, Chinese (Simplified), and Chinese (Traditional).  English and Chinese (Simplified) both work as expected but captioning for Chinese (Traditional) is not working as expected and no captioning appears when that language is selected. Any ideas on how to resolve this are most welcome.

Hi! Does anyone know if there is a way to download brightcove videos to be able to watch them offline? For example, we show videos at tradeshows but the wifi is spotty. Is there a way to still show them with no internet?

The title and description in the black background hide the content of the video, such as UI-screen titles, important UI elements, and so on. From the Brightcove Default Player settings, I cleared the Show title and description checkbox to remove the title and then published the player. However, the changes are not reflected. 

I explored the Brightcove documentation and inserted chapters/bookmarks. Users can click the Chapters menu and view a list of chapters. According to the Brightcove documentation, Chapters can be placed at Top-left Top-right Bottom-left Bottom-rightHowever, I don’t want chapters to be displayed on the Video screen. Can it be displayed as hover over on the timeline (similar to YouTube key moments display)? Displaying the Chapters menu on the video hides the content of the video.Please provide appropriate solution.Thanks,Kalpana

Hi, I’m wondering if people can share any benchmarks they use to assess engagement scores for videos. I understand the score and how it’s calculated and can find it in analytics, so really look to see how our scores compare across industries.. any generic categories would be helpful. Thanks, Pia 

I have encountered an issue with video controls in our current implementation. Specifically, I am able to control the video functionalities such as play/pause and mute/unmute for videos embedded within the amp-video tag. However, I am facing difficulties in achieving the same level of control for videos embedded within the amp-brightcove tag.Despite following the standard procedures and guidelines for both tags, the amp-brightcove tag does not seem to respond to the play/pause and mute/unmute commands as expected. This inconsistency is affecting the user experience and requires further investigation to identify the root cause and implement a solution.I would appreciate any insights or suggestions you might have to resolve this issue. Does anyone know of a simple way to publish brightcove content to spotify?

We have a first use of the off-screen chapter experience, and the Hapyak iframe in the player loads a cookie consent banner. How can this be disabled?  

No matter where the cursor is for entering the emailed authentication code, when you type in a number, it goes into the second box, and authentication fails. https://photos.app.goo.gl/5xgroEEKwxQfHuSFAI think this is likely an issue with the customized plugin for access control that we use, possibly a javascript bug. Since the custom plugin we use is based on Brightcove player, I thought it might be worth asking if anyone else has ever encountered something like this.   The developer says it’s a google problem, and Google says talk to the developer, so we have been stymied.  We have sign in with authentication by email to access videos, but in most cases, there’s a magic link that’s the primary method of access. But when it’s a package of videos, sign in is the only way.  Authentication by typing in an emailed code works with every device except Android, and for Android, it’s a problem regardless of which browser is being used. 

Hello, When I upgrade the Brightcove native SDK to version to 9.0/9.2 with Android 14 configuration and Gradle 8.7 we an error. Looking at the native sdk docs it looks like Gradle 8 is not supported yet.I was wondering when this will be supported?From the docs linked above...Notes: Brightcove recommends always using the latest version with a specific version string. For example, review the build.gradle and gradle.properties files in the android-player-samples project. The ExoPlayer dependency includes the Native SDK for Android, so you do not have to include the SDK separately. Google's ExoPlayer is an open source, application-level media player for Android. Notice that we are using the ExoPlayer 2 framework. For details, see the Migrating to ExoPlayer 2 Framework document. Android Studio uses Gradle version 8+ and the SDK does not support it yet. Downgrade Gradle to v7.1.3 by changing in the build.gradle(PlayVideos) file In the Gradle Scripts.

I wonder if anyone can offer advice.  Our home gallery https://dbdt.gallery.video/ renders in two columns on my phone.  We’re in a Catalogue Portal template set up by our vendor. I’m starting to look more at how to take more control of how our gallery looks to our patrons.  I’d love it if I could just tweak a setting for the gallery to render in one column on desktops and single column on mobile. This has been pretty easy to control with our regular Wordpress website, so if I could manage it for our video gallery, too, that would be nice.  Two columns is OK, but the short descriptions are so truncated in mobile view, and more and more of our patrons visit on mobile devices. Thanks for any suggestions! John

We have been happily rolling along on live streaming events with one access point, but a new stream team suggests that is like driving around without a seatbelt.  Is it possible to switch access points mid-live-stream on the same video ID, or would we need to have twinned video ids running on one access point each?  Not sure we could gracefully flip one to the other considering the complexity of our access control, though we do flip access from a live video to an on-demand clip after each performance (to which patrons who had access to livestream have seamless access). 

Hi, I don’t see how to edit the “1 of 1” campaign video for 9:16 format for my IG stories. I just see the regular “Vertical” format. It’s saying the other sizes are unavailable. *Would like to add in my own footage. Any help? Thanks! 

Hello,We are experiencing issues uploading videos using the google chrome browser - anyone else? Upload stalls at 99% then cancels.Chrome updated, tried chrome restarts and only having one screen open, restarting computer etc.Same issue across multiple users and computers this month.Thank you

We are making BrightCove Projects, importing them into BrightCove Experiences, adding a Chapter menu, downloading SCORM, unzipping the file, and adding some extra code since out of the box the SCORM file does not allow videos to go fullscreen. The issue is that the added code does allow the video to go fullscreen, but it appears there are dual Chapters menus. It’s very apparent when you go fullscreen, click the Chapters menu, and then hit escape to make the video it’s original size. You can see two Chapters menus, one that is the size of the fullscreen video and one the size of the original video. Does anyone know why there would be two Chapters menus?

Hi. My company has learned of several employees using private Camtasia and Vimeo accounts to share tutorials with customers. Without clamping down too hard, we’d still like to have more oversight and QC over these videos.One option we discussed is to create a centralized, branded “hub” where users can upload their videos and create their own playlists, which could then be shared out to customers. Can such a thing be done with Brightcove? TIA.

I am unable to log into support portal still, so posting here. Our player put an overlay on https://dbdt.gallery.video/ with access control diverting to forms.  This has disappeared just as our season launch commenced with brochures direct to that gallery, so it’s really important we get that working again.  Not sure if the issue is at Donate2 creator of our player or recent changes you’ve been making.  

On click of video play button, STYLE tag is getting added specific to that player in HEAD tag of our page.Our requirement is to add a CSP Nonce Attribute to that STYLE tags generated by player (example js path: //players.brightcove.net/5807743125001/FHM4NjmJvQ_default/index.min.js).Please let us know how we can add new CSP Nonce attribute.Thanks,Satish

Good morning all.  It is my understanding the brightcove host videos for NETACAD, a cisco training site. There are videos that are embedded on the netacad site, that our web filter is blocking. We have the Linewize web filter. I am looking for a URL to unblock in order for these videos to be watchable within our domain. Does anyone know a specific URL for videos hosted by brightcove that I can use to unblock in our filter? I have already added brightcove.com but that did not do the trick.  

We have used Brightcove to transcode many of our videos into the HLS and DASH formats.  We’d like to leverage our transcoding and copy these HLS and DASH formats for use somewhere else.  Is there a way to download the raw HLS and DASH video formats?
