Dual Chapters Menu in BrightCove Experiences

We are making BrightCove Projects, importing them into BrightCove Experiences, adding a Chapter menu, downloading SCORM, unzipping the file, and adding some extra code since out of the box the SCORM file does not allow videos to go fullscreen. The issue is that the added code does allow the video to go fullscreen, but it appears there are dual Chapters menus. It’s very apparent when you go fullscreen, click the Chapters menu, and then hit escape to make the video it’s original size. You can see two Chapters menus, one that is the size of the fullscreen video and one the size of the original video. Does anyone know why there would be two Chapters menus?

Hi all MS PowerPoint allows for embedding videos from certain sources, e.g., YouTube, without inserting them. Is there a way to do this for Brightcove videos?

Creating a video hub / channel

Hi. My company has learned of several employees using private Camtasia and Vimeo accounts to share tutorials with customers. Without clamping down too hard, we’d still like to have more oversight and QC over these videos. One option we discussed is to create a centralized, branded “hub” where users can upload their videos and create their own playlists, which could then be shared out to customers. Can such a thing be done with Brightcove? TIA.

EMERGENCY SUPPORT REQUEST Player overlay disappeared from our gallery

I am unable to log into support portal still, so posting here. Our player put an overlay on https://dbdt.gallery.video/ with access control diverting to forms. This has disappeared just as our season launch commenced with brochures direct to that gallery, so it’s really important we get that working again. Not sure if the issue is at Donate2 creator of our player or recent changes you’ve been making.

Want to add CSP Nonce Attribute to STYLE tag which is getting added for video players

On click of video play button, STYLE tag is getting added specific to that player in HEAD tag of our page.Our requirement is to add a CSP Nonce Attribute to that STYLE tags generated by player (example js path: //players.brightcove.net/5807743125001/FHM4NjmJvQ_default/index.min.js). Download HLS and DASH from Brightcove

We have used Brightcove to transcode many of our videos into the HLS and DASH formats. We’d like to leverage our transcoding and copy these HLS and DASH formats for use somewhere else. Is there a way to download the raw HLS and DASH video formats?

How to start a video with caption track off instead of on

I can’t seem to figure out how to have a video start playing that has a text track without the text track displaying by default. Is there a way to have the video start playing without the captions turned on?

Custom Plugin Failing After Recent Upgrades

Hello, I work with a custom plugin and it has been noticed recently that we are receiving an error now on recent versions of Brightcove. It seems like it’s related to an update in Video.js versions. Error is: "VIDEOJS: ERROR: Unable to initialize "comscore" plugin: TypeError: Class constructor Ua cannot be invoked without 'new'" Error is reproducible on Brightcove Player Version 7.18.1. (using Video.js Version 8.12.0) Brightcove Player Version 7.21.0. (using Video.js Version 8.14.1) Custom plugin working on Brightcove Player Version 6.67.7. (using Video.js Version 7.21.4) Brightcove Player Version 7.17.2 (Tested earlier, now unavailable in the video cloud, but Video.js Version was 8.11.5 see here I’m still debugging and trying to investigate on my end, but I was hoping someone had knowledge or suggestions surrounding that Videojs error when using a custom plugin. Is there a way to exclude certain IPs from the analytics reports? We log in regularly to make sure that the stream is working and would like to exclude us from being counted as a view when running reports.

Is there a way to set the default timestamp for the poster and thumbnail when uploading a video

Our videos often have an intro slide/frame during the first few seconds (or more) of the video. Is there a way to set the default Poster and Thumbnail capture to a specific timestamp? For example, the ingest profile would always use the frame at 00:02 as the default poster/thumbnail. This would save us a few clicks (especially since we’re syncing most videos from an outside location rather than directly into BC). Thanks!

I noticed the ability to download a video file exists in video cloud, but the highest resolution available is 720p. Is it possible to download the original hi-res file from video cloud?

Analytics all the videos uploaded which has no video impression

Hi, I am trying to get a report generated with all the videos uploaded which does has 0 video impression which totally comes to 1700 videos but where as when i generate a report only 300 is only generated. And the videos with 0 video impression are getting dropped. How do i generate a report with all the videos uploaded till now irrespective of the views and analytics. I tried passing more values in date range filter it still did not help. Thanks

Ingest from Google Sheets?

I’m interested in setting up a video ingestion procedure using google sheets. My ideal workflow looks like this: a google sheet is prepared with 1 row per video, and a column for each metadata field. Videos are hosted on gdrive (or box?) and a link to them is on the sheet. Using google app script, I highlight one or more rows, and then run an “ingest” command (or an “update video source file” command) from the Custom Menu. The script would send each file to brightcove with its accompanying metadata, and then update the google sheet with the new brightcove ID. But I have a feeling I can’t be the first one to think of this - has anybody else created a resource like this? What kind of upload automations have you developed?

I am looking to create an accessibility button for a Brightcove player v7 that groups function under one button. This button when clicked would give the user access to the closed captioning settings and Described Video settings. By having them grouped together it keeps the player controls bar cleaner. How would I do this?

How do you use the Reference ID field?

I’m new to using Brightcove and am wondering how others use the Reference ID field for videos. Whether it helps teams to manage videos with a consistent, repeatable data point. I realize it’s a manual-entry field, but it seems like something I might build into a content management best practices doc or some other instructions for our media coordinator. Thanks!

Advanced embed code - allow (or prefer) async support?

When publishing a video, the advanced option provides a snippet along the lines of this: <script src="https://players.brightcove.net/ACCOUNT_ID/PLAYER_ID_default/index.min.js"></script> Does this support the “async” attribute? If so - Can that be the noted in the embed code? This would greatly help on page load performance.

Formatting chapters in Interactive video

Interactivity related: When using chapters, can you select a frame thats shown before the chapter begins? For example when working in pharma, the prescribing info for a drug must always be seen. So, if we had chapters, can we make it so the video freezes on the part where the prescribing info shows first and then it can proceed with the chapter selected?
